❤️

Kitesurfing in Egypt is more than just a sport – it’s a lifestyle. The warm climate, consistent winds, and stunning landscapes provide the perfect backdrop for both beginners and experienced kitesurfers. I still remember my first time on the water: adrenaline coursed through my veins as I lifted off and glided over the waves. The feeling of freedom is indescribable – it’s no wonder kitesurfing has become one of the most popular activities along Egypt’s coasts.

And the best part? Thanks to Egypt’s warm climate, you can enjoy this breathtaking sport almost year-round. Whether it’s chasing summer waves or riding the gentle winter breeze, there’s always a perfect day waiting for you on the water.

Kite Beaches You Shouldn’t Miss

1. El Gouna

El Gouna is often called the kitesurfing capital of Egypt – and for good reason. This stunning resort town welcomes visitors with pristine beaches and a vibrant atmosphere. The steady winds and shallow waters make it an ideal spot for both beginners and advanced kitesurfers.

When I visited, I was mesmerized by the colorful kites dotting the sky, creating a beautiful contrast against the deep blue sea. Local kite schools offer excellent lessons, and the community is incredibly friendly. After a day of adventures on the water, I loved exploring the charming town, tasting delicious local dishes, and experiencing its lively nightlife.

2. Dahab

Dahab is a true hidden gem, offering a more relaxed vibe compared to El Gouna. Nestled between the mountains and the Red Sea, it’s perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle. The famous “Blue Hole” is just a short distance away, making it popular not only with divers but also with kitesurfers.

I spent my days gliding over the water, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Here, the winds are reliable, and the atmosphere is calm, making it easy to unwind after an exhilarating day. In the evenings, I enjoyed tea at a local café while watching the sunset paint the sky in shades of orange and pink.

3. Hurghada – SOMA BAY (my personal favorite)

Hurghada is another popular destination for kitesurfing enthusiasts. With long sandy beaches and rich marine life, it’s a true paradise for water sports lovers. The constant winds and pleasantly warm waters provide ideal conditions for kitesurfing, with plenty of schools and rental shops available.

During my stay in Hurghada, I was amazed by the variety of activities. From snorkeling over coral reefs to sunset boat trips, there was never a dull moment. The kitesurfing community here is lively and welcoming, and I made great friends who shared the same passion for the sport as I do.

Tips for an Unforgettable Kitesurfing Experience

To make the most of your Egyptian kitesurfing adventure, here are some tips that I’ve found very useful:

  • Choose the right season: While kitesurfing is possible year-round, the best months are generally April to October, when the winds are most reliable.

  • Take lessons: If you’re a beginner, it’s worth learning at a local school. Instructors are experienced and help you take your first steps safely. - "It’s always good to take a lesson, especially if you’re unsure or just starting out."

  • Stay hydrated: The Egyptian sun can be strong, so drink plenty of water throughout the day.

  • Use sunscreen every time: Protect your skin while enjoying the water. -

"I burn really quickly, but I found the right sunscreen that actually protects."
